Santa Visits Old Greenbelt on Christmas Eve
Every year on Christmas Eve, Santa visits Greenbelt and travels through the town on a fire truck from the Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department.
At Greenbelt’s fire station on Crescent Road, Santa consults with Lieutenant Andy Moffitt on this year’s route through Old Greenbelt. Santa has visited Greenbelt East the night before.
Santa’s helpers get ready for the ride.
Santa climbs on the fire truck.
The fire truck emerges from the fire house.
Santa adjusts the lights so they shine on him during this ride.
Coming out of the fire station, Santa travels east on Crescent Road and then south on Parkway.
He follows Crescent Road west and passes Roosevelt Center. Here after Crescent Road has turned into Ridge Road, he travels east on Ridge Road.
From Ridge Road, he travels north on Westway and gets on Lakeside Drive.
Santa visits Maplewood Court.
After Lakeside, Santa passes by Charlestowne Village, Charlestowne North high rise, Belle Point, and University Square Apartments. He returns to Ridge Road and travels east. Here he approaches Southway.
He turns right on Southway.
After making his appearance known to residents on Southway, he then makes an U-turn, follows Ridge Road to Greenbelt Elementary School, and eventually returns to the fire station.
