Another busy day at Greenbelt’s Labor Day Festival.

12:32 p.m. Greg May leads a circus show on stage.

1:09 p.m. City Councilmember Rodney Roberts (left) and Tom Stutzman visit Greenbelt Museum’s new exhibit “Greenbelt: The First 75 Years 1937-2012” in the Community Center.

1:23 p.m. Randi Boule pushes her 3-month-old grandson Wolfgang Stone through the Labor Day Festival Photo Show in the Community Center.

1:47 p.m. Abbie and Ryley, both 8 and both in third grade, enjoy their sno cones.

1:57 p.m. At the Retro Town Fair, Lynne Chandler (right) and Kim Rush Lynch (center) judge vegetables as fair coordinator Sheila Maffay-Tuthill looks on.

2:34 p.m. Hannah (left) draws a portrait of Cecile in front of Lovin’ Life Ministries’ booth. A member of the organization tells me that they belong to Rev. Moon’s Unification Church, and Rev. Moon passed away minutes ago. They have just said a prayer for him.

3:03 p.m. Isaiah Lemons plays in the Talent Show on the festival stage. He is a 9th grader.

7:00 p.m. Caroline Casey (left) is Junior Miss Greenbelt 2012.

7:11 p.m. Veronica Handunge is Miss Greenbelt 2012.

7:42 p.m. She has just won $219.50 at St. Hugh’s bingo.

8:58 p.m. Despite rain, Wicked Jezabel, an all-female party band, plays on the festival stage.

  1. I’m a second generation Greenbelter (married to a second-generation Greenbelter), currently living overseas. This year I wasn’t able to make it home for Labor Day, so I am really enjoying these photographs. Thanks very much!
